Flavors are amazing, with a great variety of choices and a beautiful atmosphere. It just ticks all the boxes. It's also real Thai food — not the fussy tasting-menu variety nor the intimidating street-food type.
Five places I keep coming back to — no tourist traps, no pretension, just genuinely great food in the city I call home.

Tastes great, but above all it's not easy to find pizza slices in Bangkok. If you're an American and you miss pizza but don't want an entire sit-down meal where you have to spend 1,000+ baht — here's where to get your fix.
Lots of Italian places in Bangkok, but this one is definitely the best. Food is amazing and it has a cozy, family atmosphere — you feel like you're dining at a friend's house rather than a stuffy place where you're just a number. Also, they're dog friendly!
Surprisingly, there's not a ton of great Vietnamese food in Bangkok — but this place is really great. Has a nice retro-style decor which is fun, and the food is delicious in great variety. Flavors are fantastic.
Not that many good American BBQ spots in Bangkok, but this one is great. Prices are reasonable, the portions generous, the vibe is relaxed — and of course they're dog friendly. You'd think that with the name!
